The drama of unemployment and precarious employment.

The EPA only statistically reflects, the serious aggression of capital and its political representatives, to the world of work, through the Labor Reform

The Active Population Survey (EPA) of the second quarter of 2013 offers us the information that unemployment has been reduced in 225.200 people, with which the unemployment rate has been reduced by 0,9 points, passing to 26,26% of the active population and leaving the figure at 5.977.500 standing people.

This data on the reduction of unemployment, does not mean that employment has increased by this figure. Occupancy in this second quarter, has behaved in a very similar way to the second quarter of 2011, having been the increase of only 149.000 people, increasing the occupancy rate between the first quarter and the second of the year 2013 a 0,90%, meeting with 16.783.800 busy people.

So, although employment has increased in the private sector, in this second quarter, in 151.600 people, public employment has been reduced by 2.600 people.

If we see the evolution of the occupancy rate in annual terms, namely, of June 2012 to June 2013, This has decreased by -3,64%, that is to say the employment has been reduced by 633.500 people in the last year.

Where have jobs been created and what type of jobs?

The employment created is fundamentally seasonal, namely, It is not structural employment. Employment increases in the Services sector in 154.800 people (turismo, hospitality, fundamentally) and the Agriculture sector in 37.500, while construction jobs are destroyed with 26.500 and in the Industry with 16.000.
