From the General Confederation of Labor we want to show our full support and solidarity with all refugees from Moria, on the Greek island of Lesbos, who have had to be evacuated as a result of the fires that have destroyed the Refugee Camp where they were living badly since their arrival on the island after fleeing their countries of origin.
The Moria Refugee Camp with capacity for 3000 people is the largest in Europe. At the moment I know produced the fires that devastated the Campo, they lived in it crowded nail 13000 people, many of which are minor. The fire, fanned all night by strong winds, was primed with tents that served as housing for those people who had to leave the field abruptly and with the accesses to the city blocked by the Greek repressive forces.
Likewise, the General Confederation of Labor denounces the existence of said Refugee camps whose management and custody are militarized, where refugees are forced to live in conditions subhuman, where their Human Rights are systematically violated, where they are deprived of liberty, where their dignity is trampled on ... and where the appropriate sanitary measures have not been taken during the pandemic caused by Covid 19 to prevent infection and spread of the virus.
The General Confederation of Labor holds responsible for all this to the nefarious migration policies of the European Union, to irresponsibility of the governments that compose it and non-compliance of the same of the commitment acquired by all of them to host refugees.
From the General Confederation of Labor, We demand that the Government of the Spanish State immediately begin necessary procedures to welcome the largest number of refugees and asylum seekers fleeing to try to save their lives.
