SUCCESS OF THE BARCELONA BICING STRIKE

In the first of 15 days called during the Bicing strike, today 12 July, the follow-up of the mobility strike, maintenance and workshop has been from 100%. Both the morning picket and the rally in Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona were very crowded. In the afternoon there is a call during the strike hours, from 16 a 18 hours, another concentration of 17 a 19 in Sant Jaume.

In it 2017 the Bicing workers have started a fight to reverse a situation that has been dragging on since its beginnings in the 2006. In July of 2006 Barcelona City Council issues a tender for the management of the Bicing activity in the city for 55.000.000 euros, was awarded to Clear Channel, American multinational, in December of 2006 only for 22.495 640, that is to say, less than half of what, according to the studies carried out by the City Council, it cost to implement Bicing. In turn Clear Channel outsourced it to another company. The consequences of this economic reduction in initial investment, they fell on the workers and their economic and health conditions, extending to the present day.

In it 2006 the excuse for having a workforce in precarious conditions was that the activity was new and had to be consolidated. To all the workers who tried to denounce the situation and organize themselves, they were immediately dismissed, labor insecurity in the company has been festering for years. Bicing is now consolidated and this excuse does not hold.

In it 2017 the situation is similar. It is providing the Clear Channel service provisionally and a tender is being held from the town hall for 10 years, 2018 al 2028, with a total amount of 227.568.148 euros that are awarded in September of this year. The annual cost is 22.756.824 euros, and the part dedicated to salary costs is of 4 365.773 of euros that is to say the 19 % of the tender, in which the managers and coordinators of the company are included and which they take alone 1.100.000 d'euros. No company devotes only such a small amount to salary costs. We believe that the costs allocated to workers' wages are totally insufficient and the consequences are very low wages and a lack of investment in occupational risk prevention materials.

From the CGT we hold the Clear Channel company responsible for this situation for having presented such low figures that served as the basis for the tender, and to Barcelona City Council for not verifying that these numbers are being used to pay a pittance and to carry out the tender without the relevant checks, both economic and in terms of occupational risk prevention.

The CGT considers that some of the options to alleviate this business and city council "error" can be to make a change in the tender, in the wage bill, guaranteeing that workers are paid decent wages and that resources are allocated to prevention or that the tender is withdrawn and another is published, solving the deficiencies that have been detected. These proposals are feasible and all that is needed is the will on the part of the company and the city council.

We remain open to dialogue aimed at finding a definitive solution that eradicates precariousness in Bicing, meanwhile we will continue to mobilize so that we are heard. This situation, known both by the company and the City Council, cannot continue.

The rest of the strike days of 4 hours are called on the days 12,14,15,16,17,19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 28, 29, 30 i 31 July. Friday 14 of July there will also be rallies in Plaça Sant Jaume de 9 a 11 hours and of 17 a 19 hours.

THE BICING OF BARCELONA IS ON STRIKE FOR THE DAYS 12,14,15,16, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 28, 29, 30 i 31 FROM JULY

CONCENTRATIONS 12 i 14 FROM JULY of 9 a 11h i de 17 at 7pm IN SANT JAUME SQUARE IN FRONT OF BARCELONA TOWN HALL

The company committee of Bicing in Barcelona has called 15 strike days of four hours per work shift, between days 12 i 31 of July, given the situation of economic precariousness and the unfortunate working conditions in Bicing de Barcelona and the lack of union response.

Of the 9 trade union delegates in Barcelona Bicing 6 they have been passed to the CGT, to be able to claim their rights. The Works Committee has held assemblies in the different work centers and shifts and the workers have shown their support for the strike call. The workers demand a real negotiation with the company and Barcelona City Council.

The unfortunate conditions of Bicing workers are among others: Salaries of 950 € per month. Loading and unloading powder from 23 kilos of bicycles. Unacceptable rhythms and organization of work, that breach the rules of prevention and the traffic code. Increased productivity in both mechanics, maintenance, as in mobility. Difficulties in being able to do the physiological needs during the working day and difficulties in being able to rest at breakfast time. Time organization of the company including overtime. The vehicles are not properly conditioned for the work they are intended for.

In a few words, 19th century labor relations in which they have been participating for a long time 11 years the American multinational Clear Channel and Barcelona City Council.

Fa 11 years that the staff call them "patience", that the economic and labor situation does not allow decent wages, that is not the time. Fa 11 years that the City Council set up the bicing with Jordi Hereu, Trias has passed and now those in the council are the ones who should put an end to the labor and economic precariousness of what has been reported to them in so many press conferences, but that when they are required to intervene they claim that it is managed by a private company.

Since all the doors have been closed, the workers have gone on strike, the company made a finalist proposal that was totally insufficient and that did not meet the expectations of the workforce, the involvement of Barcelona City Council has been requested and the workers have received silence in response. It is clear that with this salary, with these working conditions and with so many irregularities it is difficult to work.

From the CGT, union with the largest presence in the company both in terms of union delegates and affiliates, we defend the claims of the Bicing workers so that they have decent working conditions and end the precariousness they have been dragging for a long time 11 years.

Enough of broken promises, we want facts.

The colleagues of the CGT Social Sector denounce the opacity and lack of public control in the centers for minors managed by private groups

TRETS, APUNYALAMENTS, PORTES GIRATÒRIES, I NOVES ADJUDICACIONS PER VALOR DE 98 MILIONS d’€ QUE BENEFICIEN AL CONGLOMERAT EMPRESARIAL AMB VINCLES AMB EL SR RICARD CALVO (DIRECTOR GENERAL DE LA DGAIA).

Ada Colau has gone from cataloging the year 2014 to the managers of the Barcelona Metro company as a 'mafia that needs to be kicked out', to support them and act against workers' strikes. What is the reason for this change??

In TMB there is 579 managers outside of agreement, many of them plugged in by PSC, ICV i CDC. People like Didac Pestanya, now retired, mayor of Gavà of the PSC during 20 years with a salary that amounted to more than €200,000.

Of 2011 these managers got a raise 15% while that of the template was still frozen, with 400 people hired on a precarious basis and strongly pressured (for example, pregnant women are denied job changes to keep staff to a minimum).

more 60 managers receive more salary than the mayoress of Barcelona. The City Council repeatedly violates the transparency law and does not publish the salaries of these managers, while criminalizing the workers. Ada Colau herself attacked the very concept of a strike saying “strike is not negotiated because it pressures”. Clar, Ada, that's what strikes do. She had the same opinion when she herself occupied her banking offices to stop evictions by putting pressure on a higher economic power?

Relationships with the bank seem to be great, T-Mobilitat is privatized in 'la Caixa' by 94 million euros.

In this video the Metro workers explain all this perfectly:

They have occurred 68 agreement meetings without the city council wanting to close any solution, linking the interests of a management group with their own. Because?

Barcelona en Comú is practicing possibilism with the caste to organize the balance of interests in the city council. The winning bid included ICV, to which PSC later joined the councilorial government. Both parties have lived and live from a clientelism with 'their people' which they place in the different bodies to which they have access. And to our people, the TMB mafia that Colau was referring to, don't touch it.

The city council of Barcelona is currently the defense lawyer of a useless dandruff, incompetent and neoliberal who does not hesitate to seek confrontation with workers to defend his interests and those of his financial friends.

Mercedes Vidal, president of TMB, Marc Grau, director-pitbull of TMB, BEC, ICV, PSC, CDC is to blame for not wanting to find a solution to the situation.

From the IT Coordinator of the CGT we give all our support to the workers fighting for their rights and against the mafia of managers and politicians.

Stability or layoffs? we decide!

Companys, partners,

We share with you this new crack: POSSIBLE MASSIVE OPPOSITIONS NEXT 3 YEARS. STABILITY OR LAYOFFS? WE DECIDE!!

After six years without opposition, several factors may force the State and Generalitat governments to put thousands of teaching positions out to competition over the next three years. Depending on the procedure used, this process may allow a majority of the current temporary staff to become official staff or to lose the positions they currently occupy. From CGT we are convinced that the pressure we exert will be the key to prioritizing access to the people who now occupy these positions.

Today the cleaning workers of the City of Justice have started a strike demanding the termination of the contract that the City of Justice has with Kluh Linaer. This company had a debt of more than four million euros with Hicenda, he owed money to many workers and even fired several of them for their union membership..

A hundred comrades gathered this morning in front of the city gates (in)Justice. And to the surprise of some, the company Kluh Linaer has hired today 9 netejador @ s and a supervisor to supply the strikers. An example of this “justice”, who sees before his eyes the violation of one of the fundamental rights such as the right to strike. The striking colleagues would have already made the corresponding complaint.

After 9 defaults on time, the workers of CGT Neteja Barcelona have said enough. The strike that began today and will continue this week, requires all our support.

Kluh Linaer does not pay and violates labor rights!
Termination of this company already!

Cleaning strike City of Justice Barcelona, 23 January 2017

Strike of cleaning workers in the City of Justice of Barcelona in 23 al 27 January

Jan 202017

Barcelona City of Justice Cleaning StrikeStrike of the cleaning staff in the City of Justice of Barcelona, of Monday 23 to friday 27 from January

Concentration next Monday 23 January in the City of Justice, to 9 and at 11am.

From the CGT Cleaning of Barcelona a cleaning strike of the City of Injustice to demand the collection of pending wages and request that the contract of KLUH LINAER be terminated in this center. The latest news we have about it, is that on the day of the date the company has made the payments owed, but the force measures remain. The comrades of CGT Cleaning of Barcelona have decided in an assembly to continue with the strike, since it is not only the history of 9 defaults by the company KLUH LINAER, Rather, the termination of the contract with the same is requested by the Department of Justice.

In its CGT Cleaning Barcelona statement, colleagues state the reasons for the call and the strike.

We understand that those responsible for the City of Injustice and the Department of Justice are as responsible as Kluh Linaer for this situation., since it has consented and accepted that a company that owes money to workers and that gambles with the bread of its workers, be the award of a public contract that they manage and for which they are directly responsible. They can't stay looking the other way, as if the thing was not with them.

For the CGT, The contract must be terminated since the concession requirements are being breached by constantly failing with the obligations of its workers. We do not understand how the City of Injustice, which depends directly on the Department of Justice, has hired this company everything and knowing that this situation could occur. You have a history of defaults in many parts of the country where you have been granted the concession. Didn't they care what would happen to the families of these workers??, or was there a stronger reason to hire this company?, How can they hire a company that must 4 million euros to the Treasury and the salary to a lot of workers throughout the country?, How can it be that they hire a company that has been judicially convicted of firing workers for their union membership?

Until 9 times of delay in collecting payroll
Out with Kluh Linaer from the City of Injustice

We call on the affiliation to give support to our colleagues from CGT Cleaning of Barcelona, this next Monday at 9:00 am in the City of Justice.

cgt-sector-socialCONCENTRATION IN THE ROBERT PALACE (Passeig de Gracia 107) THURSDAY 24 FROM NOVEMBER to 9 IN THE MORNING

In defense of a public and quality service for children at risk of social exclusion

No to the decrease of € 528,000 by the Generalitat

This rally is called in defense of a public and quality service for families at risk of social exclusion. The Generalitat intends to reduce the budget item currently allocated by € 472,000 for each “Children’s Home” and which would become 424.000 Euros, which means a total drop of 48.000 Euros to each house, and a total budget cut of 528.000 Euros, which will cause a decrease in the minors taken care of and of the workers in each center, when it is a service that in some homes there is a waiting list.

The main objective of the service is to give families the necessary support to prevent the separation of children and / or the possibility of the return home of institutionalized minors..

If some money is well spent, these are the ones dedicated to prevention, and more so if it is for minors among 3 i 18 years and their families, than for different socio-economic and / or family reasons, they are overwhelmed by situations that require specialized intervention.

The "Children's Homes" project, is managed by FASI (Social Action and Childhood Foundation), a non-profit entity, whose financial means come from the General Directorate of Child and Adolescent Care (DGAIA), body that monitors and evaluates the project and has recently announced the budget cut. This cut, will be executed by the private entity FASI, with which it will entail a deep restructuring of the service.

Post office strike Lliçà d'AmuntPress release:
The workers of the Lliçà d’Amunt Post Office are calling off the indefinite strike

Last monday 5 September, the workers of the Lliçà d'Amunt post office decided to definitively call off the indefinite strike called last 12 August due to lack of hiring. We want to remember that it remained suspended until the management's plans for this month were known..

At first they told us that they would not hire anyone., fact that motivated that on Friday 2 September it was decided to resume the same.

When the address knows the call for the same, It seems that they reacted and common sense has prevailed and they have hired a partner until the end of the month. With this fact the squad will have 7 effective in september.

If it hadn't been for this fight, this summer Lliçà d'Amunt would have had a postal service lower than one 50% of the template in some stripes of it.

The workers of the lliça post office encourage the group of colleagues from the different post offices to organize among themselves to defend the public service. We cannot allow brutal personnel cuts, We cannot allow there to be bag colleagues who do not call them because they are not hired..

We will remain vigilant so that situations like those of this summer do not occur again., and in any case if they are repeated, We would once again remain firm in mobilization as a tool to defend a universal and quality postal service

Thank you for the support received from the CGT union as well as neighbors, and entities from Lliçà d'Amunt.

If we fight we can lose, If we don't fight we are lost!!!

With a 80% follow-up on the first day of strike, and the presence at the midday rally of some 40 people, among workers affected, neighbors and comrades of CGT, today's strike has been successful. We concentrated in the Lliçà d’Amunt Town Hall to go to the Post Office and there, comrade Àlvaro explained the situation and the reasons for the strike. When the fight started, the company replied that we forgot to hire anyone. Today, 12 of August, they had already hired 3 people.

This next Tuesday 16 of August, the assembly of workers of Correus de Lliçà d’Amunt will decide what steps to take in the new scenario. It is once again demonstrated that only with the direct action of the workers are we taken into account, it's the only way to make ourselves heard.

By mails, we want more hiring and less exploitation!

Post Strike Uphill, 12 of August

Aug 112016

cgt-postCall for a strike by the distributors of Correos Lliçà d’Amunt for this Friday 12 August of 2016

It looks like the company is right and has announced the hiring of 3 people for the second half of August. Even so, we continue the strike call on Friday 12 August, because until the people are hired, we will not call off the strike. So far this summer, there has been no hiring by the company.

In the CGT we are not kidding: we know that there is a process of degradation of Post Offices, with the complicity and silence of the majority unions. But we follow the example of post offices in Algeciras and Madrid, because we also know and show that the struggle and action of workers for their own interests is a powerful tool that we have.

Correos is solely responsible for the current conflict situation. We insist again that the postal regulations are complied with in the parameters established in the Law 43/2010, from 30 of December, than in his article 24 picks up: “Deliveries will be made, at least, every working day, from Monday to Friday, except in the case of special circumstances or geographical conditions ”.

We invite you all to support your comrades in the fight for the post office, this Friday 12 August of 2016, in front of l’Lliçà d’Amunt City Council () them 12.00h.

The Post Office, we want more recruitment and less exploitation!

Poster CGT elections post office Bages1 2011_1The workers of Correos de repartimiento in Lliçà d’Amunt call an indefinite strike by the 3 last hours from the 12 against the degradation of the postal service

The past 25 In July, the delivery workers of Correos de Lliçà d’Amunt began a series of protests to denounce the degradation of the postal service suffered by the residents of Lliçà d’Amunt. As a result, the City Council asked to meet with us where we explained the shortages of staff suffering from the service. ( 50% Of the template ). Due to this fact, the City Council sent a letter to the company requesting improvements in the service. The only response that Correos has given to our workers ’protests has been to hire a worker until 12 August ( according to them to clean them almost 6000 objects we have a 3 August !) and the coverage of a surplus that will occur from the 3 week of August. Definitely, under these conditions it is impossible to comply with the deliveries established by postal regulations.

Due to this fact, this Monday 1 August the CGT ( with the approval of the assembly of delivery workers ) decided to call an indefinite strike of the 3 last hours from next Friday 12 of August. We don’t like having to make that decision ,but we cannot remain indifferent to the degradation of the postal service. In this way, we want to make a call for the residents of Lliçà d’Amunt to accompany us to the rally that we will convene at 12.00 in front of the City Council.

From now on, Correos will be solely responsible for the conflict situation that occurs in the service. We are once again urging Correos to comply with postal regulations within the parameters established by law 43/2010, from 30 of December than in his article 24 picks up: “Deliveries will be made, at least, every working day, from Monday to Friday, except in the case of special circumstances or geographical conditions ”.

emailLast Monday, Correos de Lliçà d'Amunt workers gathered in front of the office to report the situation of the postal service in the town. The same was a success as one participated 85% of the delivery staff. For weeks, due to lack of staff, the service is suffering from serious deficiencies.

In the assembly they agreed to have breakfast in the street as a form of protest, not ruling out other more forceful actions but improving the postal service. Likewise, for this Thursday 28 In July, a meeting was arranged with the mayor of Llicà d'Amunt to inform him of the serious shortcomings of the service and to demand that Correos provide a dignified service for the town's citizens..

As we reported in the previous statement, we want to inform users of the conditions in which we carry out our work and of the repercussions that this is having on the quality of the service we provide..

First of all, it should be noted that: we are providing a public service;mail equals all people, regardless of the territorial scope in which it is exercised.

Correos is the operator designated by the State to provide this service and must do so within the parameters established in the Law 43/2010, from 30 of December than in his article 24 picks up: “Deliveries will be made, at least, every working day, from Monday to Friday, except in the case of special circumstances or geographical conditions ”.

Post and Telegraphs S.A., in your income statement for the year 2013, acknowledged having some benefits from 50 million euros. In 2014 these benefits were achieved by the 196 million euros, almost 4 times more. However, the reality we are living in this company is that of a major staff cut, so important that it became commonplace not to be able to finish the daily delivery.

Years ago, just in the summer, the company carried out an experiment that consisted of hiring fewer people than we were on vacation and recharging the entire staff with the work corresponding to these sections that were not covered (a section is the area that distributes a portfolio). According to the company, this was justified by the decline in postal traffic in the summer. The truth is that these experiments came to stay and dubbing, which is anonymous in sections that are not covered by contract staff, are a reality we have all year round, which means that certain areas are systematically distributed on alternate days, a bit of what we are witnesses and protagonists.

This summer is another turn around in this unsustainable situation, and the sections that are uncovered have become 50% of the same. As a result, postmen now have to take over entire distribution sections, which causes that for some places of Lliçà d'Amunt they take weeks without distributing correspondence.

It is scandalous that a company with millionaire profits is so blatantly disregarding its obligations. The consequences are suffered by workers and users: We, because we are subjected to a sustained level of stress over time that undermines our health and living conditions; users, because they suffer the deterioration of a service to which they are entitled.
